Biography
Blessed Ralph Corby, a martyr of the Catholic faith, was born into a profoundly pious family where all members, including his parents, eventually embraced religious life. His education, reflecting his vocation, was pursued at the College of Saint Omer in France, followed by studies at the seminary of Saint Gregory in Seville, Spain, and the Royal College of Saint Alban in Valladolid. In 1631, he entered the Society of Jesus and was ordained a priest the same year. Determined to serve the persecuted Catholic community in England, he returned to Durham in 1632, ministering courageously to covert Catholics amidst intense persecution.
